A young girl sits on the floor of her bedroom, concentrating on lifting one piece of yarn over another. The tool that she is using is an empty spool that once held thread, four nails driven into the top of the spool. If you could see inside the dreams of this child, you would see wonderful creations that she hopes to make with the rope that lengthens from the center of the spool. But first, each small step of one piece of yarn over another. This, her Mother told her, was called 'corking'.
Many, many small stitches have shaped and created this young girl's life, and she is now a woman. Her tools have become bigger, but they still remain simple. Knitting needles, crochet hooks, sewing needles, and of course the yarn. So many colours, and so many textures. How could she not be inspired with all the wonderful dreams that were spoken to her through the medium of yarn? Slowly, one of her biggest desires became to share the dreams and the inspiration with others who would seek it.
